The highest number of doctors died from Covid-19 in June
At least 116 doctors have died from Covid-19 in the country so far, with one more death from the deadly virus being the latest victim of the deadly virus on Sunday night.
Dr Rashed Sarwar Alam Rony, the Medical Officer of Bangladesh Public Administration Training Center at Savar, was the latest victim of Covid-19 . He was 47.
He was a student of K-49 batch of Dhaka Medical College.

Dr Moin Uddin Ahmed, was the first doctor who died of Covid-19 on 15 April. Since then, 116 doctors have died from the virus infection, according to the Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA).
According to the BMA data, the highest number of doctors died from Covid-19 in June and July. The death toll of doctors was 47 in June while 15 in July.
BMA said one doctor died of Covid-19 in April, 12 in May, 47 in June, 15 in July, 12 in August, eight each in September and October, nine in November and four in 14 days in December.
Dr Md Ehteshamul Huq Choudhury, Secretary General of BMA, told the Business Standard the infection has increased again and the number of doctors' deaths is also rising once again. However, there is a sense of relief among doctors now because a treatment protocol is in place.
In many cases, doctors are seeing the patients without wearing proper facemask, PPE. Many doctors have already tested positive of Covid-19. Doctors should be more careful now, he added.
