123 EU citizens leave Dhaka for Frankfurt
Most of the passengers on the flight are German citizens
A total of 123 citizens of European Union (EU) countries, who were stranded in Bangladesh due to the Covid-19 outbreak, left Dhaka for Frankfurt on Friday afternoon by a special chartered flight.
Group Captain AHM Touhid-ul Ahsan, director of the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, confirmed the matter to the media. He said the chartered flight of German Condor Airlines will arrive in Frankfurt, Germany.
Most of the passengers on the flight are German citizens.

In separate tweets, EU Ambassador to Bangladesh Rensje Teerink and German Ambassador to Bangladesh Peter Fahrenholtz, expressed their gratitude to the authorities for helping facilitate the chartered flight.
Earlier, nationals of the US, Japan, Malaysia and Bhutan also left Dhaka on chartered flights amid the outbreak of the deadly coronavirus.
Another special chartered flight of Qatar Airways – the third one to be arranged so far by the United States – is scheduled to depart the Dhaka airport on Monday.
Previously, two chartered flights had taken 591 US citizens back to America through the Dhaka-Doha route, and then a connecting flight to the Dulles International Airport in Washington, DC.
