2 Chattogram hospitals dedicated to treat Covid-19 patients
The hospitals are Imperial Hospital Limited and Bangabandhu Memorial Hospital
The government has declared two private hospitals in Chattogram dedicated to treat the Covid-19 patients as the port city is witnessing a growing number of infection cases in recent times.
The hospitals are Imperial Hospital Limited and Bangabandhu Memorial Hospital, said a press release issued by the Health and Family Welfare Ministry on Tuesday.
The decision was taken in compliance with a request from the Public Security Division and Chattogram Deputy Commissioner Office to ensure treatment of the patients infected with the deadly virus.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh recorded 21 more deaths with infection rate marching up, reaching the highest of 21.56 percent in the period of 24-hour.
The Health Directorate reported 1,166 new cases of virus infection, testing 5,407 samples during the time in the country. Earlier on Monday, DGHS said 1,975 new cases of infection were detected testing 9,451 samples.
With this, the death toll from the deadly virus rose to 522 and the number of total infections stood at 36,751.
