Bangladesh has confirmed 35 more deaths from the novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours till 8am on Tuesday.
The country's death toll from the deadly virus now stands at 4,316, read a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
In the 24-hour period, 1,950 people tested positive for Covid-19 and the number of novel coronavirus cases in the country now stands at 314,946.
The latest day's infection rate is 15.97 percent of the total tests, though the overall rate in the country, till date, stands at 20.16 percent and death rate is 1.37 percent.
Among the deceased patients, 21 were men and 14 were women. Of the deceased: 14 hailed from Dhaka, seven from Chattogram, three each from Khulna and Rajshahi, two from Barishal, one each from Sylhet and Mymensingh, and four from Rangpur.
Thirty two died in different hospitals across the country, while three died at their homes.
In that 24-hour period, 3,290 patients were declared free of the novel coronavirus, the total number of recoveries reached 208,177 and the recovery rate stood at 66.10 percent.
Some 11,981 samples were collected during that period, and 12,209 were tested in 92 labs across the country. So far 1,562,412 samples have been tested.
The gender breakdown of Covid-19 victims reveals that 3,385 or 78.43 percent of the total patients were men, and 931 or 21.57 percent were women.
Division-wise, the fatalities are as follows: 2,083 victims hailed from Dhaka division, 939 from Chattogram, 290 from Rajshahi, 359 from Khulna, 168 from Barishal, 192 from Sylhet, 194 from Rangpur, and 91 from Mymensingh division.
Bangladesh reported its first Covid-19 cases on March 8, while the first death was logged ten days later on March 18.
