Covid-19 death toll reaches 4,593
In 24 hours, 1,827 people tested positive for Covid-19, which brings the total number of novel coronavirus cases in the country to 331,078

Bangladesh confirmed 41 more deaths from the novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours till 8am on Wednesday.
The country's death toll from the virus now stands at 4,593, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Death rate from among the infected Covid-19 patients in the country is 1.39%.
In the 24 hours, 1,827 people tested positive for Covid-19, which brings the total number of novel coronavirus cases in the country to 331,078.
In the same period, 14,792 samples were collected and 14,755 were tested in 94 labs across the country. So far, 1,674,452 samples have been tested.
The latest day's infection rate was 12.38%, while the overall infection rate was 19.77%.
Of the deceased patients, 29 were men and 12 were women. Moreover, 17 of them hailed from Dhaka, six from Chattogram, four from Khulna, one each from Barishal and Mymensingh, five each from Rangpur and Rajshahi, and two from Sylhet, said the DGHS.
Thirty-six of these patients died in different hospitals while three passed away at their respective homes, said the press release.
Out of the 41 deceased, one was within the age group between 0 and 10, one between 21 and 30, one between 31 and 40, four between 41 and 50, 10 between 51 and 60, and 24 were above 60 years old.
In the 24 hours, 2,995 patients were declared free of the novel coronavirus. The total number of recoveries reached 230,804, while the recovery rate was 69.71%.
Division-wise, 2,217 of the Covid-19 patients hailed from Dhaka, 978 from Chattogram, 306 from Rajshahi, 390 from Khulna, 178 from Barishal, 208 from Sylhet, 218 from Rangpur, and 98 from Mymensingh.
