5 Bangladeshi doctors died of coronavirus in Saudi Arabia

At least five Bangladeshi physicians died of coronavirus while serving their duties in different hospitals and clinics across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to date.

They have also paid tribute to the five doctors who lost their lives while saving lives of patients suffering from the coronavirus during the pandemic.

Bangladesh Ambassador to the KSA Golam Moshi said the doctors who sacrificed their lives for helping and treating people are real heros and conveyed deep condolences to their family members, according to Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh.
Dr Mohammad Shafiullah (Ranak) passed away on June 19 while he was serving as a consultant in medicine at King Salman Hospital in Riyadh under the Ministry of Health.
Dr Ranak was a student of Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College in Bangladesh. He contacted the virus while providing treatment to corona-infected patients and was admitted to Prince Salman Hospital Intensive Care Unit.
When his condition deteriorated further then he was shifted to Abdur Rahman Corona dedicated hospital in Riyadh.
Dr Ranak was in charge of two Corona wards at King Salman Hospital since the beginning of Covid-19 pandemic in Saudi Arabia.
The very first Bangladeshi doctor who died of Covid-19 in the KSA was Dr. Afaq Hossain. He was 62.
He got infected while treating patients at Safa Al Madinah Poly Clinic in Madinah and died on March 31.
On June 16, Dr. Golam Mostafa died due to coronavirus infection in Madinah. He had worked at "Agul Health Center" in Madhina under Ministry of Health.
Doctor Mostafa worked more than 34 years in MOH and retired four months ago and was awaiting to go back to the country.
On June 13, Dr Md. Anwar Ul Hasan, who had worked in Badruddin Poly Clinic in Batha, Riyadh as a General Practitioner, died of Covid-19 in Riyadh.
Dr Abdur Rahim, who had served as a General Practitioner at Bin Laden Poly Clinic in Jeddah, died on May 19 due to coronavirus infection.
The Embassy of Bangladesh said they are keeping a close contact with the doctors community to ensure all possible support to them and conveyed deep condolences to the bereaved family members.
