A total of 607 more people have tested positive for Covid-19 afresh in all eight districts of the division on Sunday, climbing the number of infections to 38,431.

"Among the infected people, 32,385 have, so far, been cured from the lethal virus with 106 new recoveries found during that time," said Dr Habibul Ahsan Talukder, divisional director of Health.
He added that a total of 4,055 infected patients are now undergoing treatment at different designated hospitals here.
Besides, all the positive cases for Covid-19 have, so far, been brought under necessary treatment while 8,857 were kept in isolation units of different hospitals for institutional supervision. Of them, 7,407 have by now been released.
On the other hand, 293 more people have been sent to home and institutional quarantine afresh while 148 others were released from isolation during the last 24 hours till 8 am today.
The number of deaths from the disease stands at 597, including 318 in Bogura and 93 in Rajshahi with 59 in its city, while two more fatalities reported afresh on Sunday, Dr Talukder added.
Of the total new positive cases, the highest 270 were detected in Rajshahi, including 117 in its city, followed by 119 in Naogaon, 75 in Chapainawabganj, 61 in Joypurhat, 35 in Natore, 16 in Bogura and Pabna each and 15 in Sirajganj districts.
With the new detected patients, the district-wise break-up of the total cases now stands at 10,053 in Rajshahi, including 8,153 in its city, 2,597 in Chapainawabganj, 2,502 in Naogaon, 1,898 in Natore, 1,990 in Joypurhat, 12,401 in Bogura, 3,763 in Sirajganj and 3,227 in Pabna.
A total of 74,273 people have, so far, been kept under quarantine since March 10 last year to prevent community transmission of the deadly coronavirus (Covid-19).
Of them, 71,922 have, by now, been released as they were given clearance certificates after completing their respective 14-day quarantine period.
Meanwhile, a total of 4,09,404 people received second doses of Covid-19 vaccines in the city and eight districts of Rajshahi division since the nationwide second dose vaccination began on April 8 last.
Of them, 520 people including 208 females took the second jabs in three districts of the division on Sunday, Dr Habibul Ahsan Talukder told BSS.
He said, 30 including 7 females in Chapainawabganj, 40 including 10 females in Natore and 450 people including 191 females in Bogura received the vaccines on the day.
