Cattle markets must have isolation unit

The health ministry has suggested that an isolation unit should be set up at each animal market across the country so that a Covid-19 patient there can immediately be moved to it.

The ministry has also asked the market authorities to form multiple mobile volunteer medical teams who will help identify suspicious Covid-19 positive people, entering the haat through digital thermometers.

In the guidelines of the health regulations issued for the markets and animal sacrifice issued on the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha, the Department of Health Services on Tuesday also said the market should be set up in an open place.

Before setting up the animal market, the lessee will arrange masks, soaps, and disinfectants. No buyer or seller can enter the market without a mask. The authorities can fix the price of the mask if they want.

No one with cold, cough, fever or shortness of breath should enter the market. The health department has instructed not to allow more than one or two buyers to enter the market to purchase an animal.

Instructing not to gather too many people at the time of animal sacrifice, the ministry said not many people can move together to collect the meat. The skin of the animals should be removed quickly and the specific place of sacrifice should be disinfected with a solution of bleaching powder.
