Coronavirus cases cross 300,000-mark in Bangladesh
Single-day Covid-19 deaths jumped to 54 and 2,519 new patients were found in last 24 hours

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Bangladesh reached 3,02,147, with 2,519 new cases reported in the last 24 hours.
Besides, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), in a press release, confirmed 54 more deaths from the dreaded virus during the time increasing the tally of deaths to 4,082.
Around 62.94 percent of novel coronavirus patients – both symptomatic and asymptomatic – have recovered in Bangladesh so far, while 1.35 percent have died.
The latest day's infection rate was 16.72 percent of the total tests, though the overall rate in the country till date was 20.34 percent.
Of the dead patients, 39 were men and 15 were women. Moreover, 23 of them hailed from Dhaka, 9 each from Chattogram and Khulna, four from Rajshahi, two each from Sylhet, Barishal, and Mymensingh, and three from Rangpur division.
49 of them have died in different hospitals and five at their respective residences.
The gender breakdown of Covid-19's victims shows that 78.59 percent or 3,208 of the total were men, and 21.41 percent or 874 were women.
While talking about district-wise fatalities, 1,968 hailed from Dhaka division, 898 from Chattogram, 335 from Khulna, 276 from Rajshahi, 186 from Sylhet, 171 from Rangpur, 159 from Barishal, and 89 from Mymensingh district.

According to the age group analysis of Covid-19 victims, as of Wednesday, the majority of patients that died – 2,003 or 49.07 percent – were aged sixty and above.
The age groups of 51-60 and 41-50 come next with, respectively, 1,129 and 547 people. The rest of the people are within the age group of 31-40 with 253 people, 21-30 with 95, 11-20 with 35 people and under ten with 19 people.
A total of 3,427 patients were declared free of the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours and the total number of recoveries reached 190,183.
Some 14,835 samples were collected in the last 24 hours and 15,070 were tested in 92 labs across the country. So far 1,4,85,261 samples have been tested.
Currently, 47,396 people are quarantined across the country – including 1,743 newly-quarantined individuals.
The authorities placed 653 new individuals suspected of having Covid-19 into isolation, bringing the total to 20,287 after 48,399 left.
As many as 19,4,73,349 hotline health services were given by trained and volunteer doctors via three designated numbers (16263, 333, and 10655), including 48,655 in the last 24-hour till 8am today.
There are 14,843 general dialysis beds available in the country for Covid-19 treatment where 4,056 people are already admitted, and 10,787 beds are available for treatment.
There are 12,583 oxygen cylinders, 429 high-flow nasal cannula and 176 oxygen concentrator available across the country.
