Covid test fee for outbound travellers reduce Tk500
Samples must be submitted for the test 72 hours before the departure
The government has reduced the Covid-19 test fee for outbound passengers by Tk500 per head.
According to a health ministry notice issued on 1 November, all the approved private labs will charge Tk3,000 for an RT-PCR test from now on to issue Covid-free certificate for outbound travellers.
In the interest of upholding the reputation of Bangladesh abroad, Covid-19 samples should be collected and tested carefully to get accurate reports, the notice said.
Moreover, for the immigration authority to view the reports of the expatriates on the website, the correct information will have to be approved in time by the experienced data entry operators in the DHIS2 software of the Directorate General of Health Services.
After verifying photocopies of passports and tickets, samples from outbound passengers should be collected 72 hours before their journey, and the report should be issued at least 24 hours prior to their departure.
