Flights with UK to be halted if necessary: Health Minister
The government does not have any plan to impose a lockdown in the country at present, says minister
Health Minister Zahid Maleque on Wednesday said that flights with the United Kingdom will be suspended if it is required.
Discussion is already underway in this regard, said the minister.
He also said that the government does not have any plan to impose a lockdown in the country at present.
The minister came up with the information while speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of 'Gene Expert Machine and Mobile Laboratory' at Ashkona Hajj Camp in the capital.
"We have enough beds," said Zahid Maleque, adding, "We will increase the quantity if needed but so far the situation in the country is under control. The country's economy is also in good condition."
Additional Director General of the Department of Health Nasima Sultana presided over the event where Director-General of the Department of Health Abul Bashar Mohammad Khurshid Alam delivered a speech among others.
