Independent TV journalist tests positive for coronavirus
The journalist is currently under observation at the Kuwait-Bangladesh Friendship Government Hospital
A journalist of Independent television has been tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
Another 47 employees, who came into contact with him, have been sent to home quarantine, says a press release from the television channel.
"The journalist went into self-isolation on March 26 after he started showing symptoms," CEO and Editor-in-Chief of Independent television M Shamsur Rahman said in a video message.

"The journalist contacted the Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) two days ago and was tested positive," the press release also states.
"Counting from March 26, if no one [in the station] else shows symptoms within the next five days, we will be sure that the infection did not spread among others," it further reads.
The press release concluded with Independent urging all journalists to take precautions while covering news following the government instructions.
The journalist is currently under observation at the Kuwait-Bangladesh Friendship Government Hospital, a reporter of the television station said.
Bangladesh reported five new cases of coronavirus on Friday.
With this, the total number of coronavirus patients stands at 61. No new death was reported in the last 24 hours. So far, six people have died from the virus infection in the country.
