One million non-medical masks distributed by Grameen Telecom
The production and distribution of face masks will continue until the novel coronavirus is brought under control
Grameen Telecom has taken the initiative to make non-medical face masks accessible to people who cannot afford them or who do not have access to them.
According to a press release, Grameen Fabrics and Fashions Ltd, funded by Grameen Telecom, started producing face masks in April and started distributing the masks among disadvantaged people in remote areas of the country from April 30 – free of cost.
So far, one million and 20 thousand masks have been produced and more than one million masks have been distributed through 37 organisations – including Grameen organizations, NGOs and volunteer organisations outside Grameen, the press release read.
The production and distribution of face masks will continue until the novel coronavirus is brought under control, the press release added.
Grameen Telecom urged that if any organisation or individual is interested in procuring face masks to distribute at their own initiative, they may contact Grameen Telecom through email at [email protected].
