PM okays recruitment of 3,000 medical technologists: DGHS DG
The public administration ministry, the health ministry and the DGHS will now jointly start recruitment process
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has approved a proposal for recruitment of 3,000 new medical technologists and technicians in the wake of the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation in the country.
"In view of the COVID-19 outbreak, the Health Services Division on Thursday sent a proposal regarding appointment of 3,000 new medical technologists and technicians to the honourable prime minister who immediately endorsed it (proposal)," Director General of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Abul Kalam Azad told BSS today.
Of them, Azad said, the number of medical technologists is 1200, while the technicians are 1800.
The public administration ministry, the health ministry and the DGHS will now jointly start recruitment process of the 3000 medical technologists and technicians to further improve healthcare services for the COVID-19 patients, he added.
Last month, the government recruited some 2,000 physicians and 5,054 nurses to fight the coronavirus pandemic.
