Rangamati confirms 4 Covid-19 cases
The victims were taken to the hospital with fever and cough where their blood samples were collected
Four people have tested positive for novel coronavirus in Rangamati today.
Two of the infected cases – a 38-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man – were from the Hospital Road area, another 19-year old from Debashish Nagar and a 9-month-old baby from the Reserve Bazar area. One of them is from a Barua community while the other three belong to the Bengali community.
Dr Mostafa Kamal, controller of Corona Control Room in Rangamati Civil Surgeon's Office, confirmed the matter.
Rangamati Civil Surgeon Dr Bipash Khisa said when the infected people came to the hospital with fever and cough, their blood samples were collected and sent those to Chattogram. Later the results came Covid-19 positive.
"The coronavirus patients are still at home, and whether they will be brought into isolation will be decided after a meeting between the health department and the district administration," said Dr Bipash Khisa.
It is also being investigated whether they had arrived from outside.
Rangamati Deputy Commissioner AKM Mamunur Rashid said they had locked down three areas after having received information from the health department.
