Savar health complex doctor tests positive for coronavirus

A doctor of Savar Upazila Health Complex has tested positive for coronavirus.
''He was admitted to capital's Kuwait Maitree Hospital last night when the test report came," Dhaka Civil Surgeon Dr Abu Hussain Md Moinul Ahsan told The Business Standard.
Samples of 10 people, including doctors, health workers, were collected yesterday for examination due to symptoms of coronavirus, according to Upazila Health and Family Planning Official.
"The doctor, who performed his duty at emergency room till Monday evening before getting the report, is the first patient of coronavirus in Savar," the civil surgeon added.
''The hospital's Emergency room has been closed and shifted to another room, '' he said adding that contact tracing is going on.
Besides, some doctors, nurses and staffs, who had come in contact with the infected doctor, initially were sent to isolation, he added.
However, Savar Upazila Health and Family Planning Office Dr Saimul Huda posted on his personal Facebook saying he along with a total 40 officers and staffs of the hospital were sent to compulsory isolation.
