USAID donates 2,176,000 KN95 masks
United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has donated a total of 2,176,000 KN95 masks as humanitarian relief aiming to help Bangladesh to battle its latest Covid-19 surge.
A humanitarian aid cargo along with the masks reached the country on Monday, according to a gift certificate issued by the USAID.
The aid cargo is not for re-sale or for commercial purpose, it said.
USAID's long-standing partnership with Bangladesh to ensuring access to quality, lifesaving health services for all Bangladeshis.
As part of its ongoing emergency assistance to countries in South Asia, the US government through the USAID on Saturday airlifted urgent medical supplies to help Bangladesh.
As one of the first and largest donors to Bangladesh's Covid-19 response efforts, the US government has contributed over $80 million in new and existing resources in assistance to date.
