Vaccination programme will help to revive the economy - DCCI President
The vaccination programme will boost the confidence of the entrepreneurs, he said
Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) President Rizwan Rahman said the Covid-19 vaccination programme in Bangladesh will help to reopen social engagement and production process in industries, which will help to revive GDP growth which bounced back to projected 8 plus percent again.
The vaccination programme will boost the confidence of the entrepreneurs, which will help to increase investment, Rahman said while talking to The Business Standard on Wednesday evening.
Being a service sector led economy, which contributes around 52.8 percent of the GDP, the coronavirus pandemic has stopped most of the avenues of industries and services, he added.
The outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic stopped the wheel of industrial production due to life risk and threatened human engagement – bringing the GDP growth down to 5.24% in the fiscal year 2019-20. Hence, an effective vaccination programme is a crucial need for revival of the economy, the DCCI president remarked.
