Bangladesh's GDP growth highest in the world: Finance Minister

Bangladesh has been enjoying the highest GDP growth in the world (on the basis of the current price method) over the last 10 years since 2009, according to a report recently published by the Spectator Index.
The Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal presented the report at the Cabinet meeting, held at the Bangladesh Secretariat on Monday. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina presided over the meeting.
According to the report, Bangladesh’s GDP has been growing by 188 percent among the 26 top growth achieving nations since 2009 with China and India taking up the second and third positions with 175% and 117% percent growth, respectively. The growth Index also recorded GDP growth of Indonesia, Australia, Brazil and Malaysia over the specified period to the tune of 90%, 41%, 17%, and 78%, respectively.

“Bangladesh is moving forward, and will continue to do,” said the minister, while adding that the country’s economy will grow more on consistent development under the dynamic leadership of the Prime Minister.
