Ami Probashi Partners with Grameen Digital Healthcare Solutions to Provide Healthcare for Migrant Workers
In a landmark collaboration to improve the welfare of migrant workers, Ami Probashi Limited has entered into a partnership with Grameen Digital Healthcare Solutions, a telemedicine initiative by the Grameen Telecom Trust. The agreement, signed on Wednesday, 18 September, by Dr. Ahmed Armaan Siddiqui, Chief Executive Officer of Grameen Digital Health, and Mr. Ahsanul Haque, Head of Business Operations at Ami Probashi, aims to offer essential healthcare services to Bangladeshi expatriates through telemedicine.
Grameen Digital Healthcare Solutions, renowned for its telemedicine platform, Shukhee, provides patients with the ability to consult specialist doctors remotely via video calls. This partnership enables Bangladeshi migrant workers abroad to access quality healthcare services directly from home through Ami Probashi's integration with the platform.
Migrant workers often face difficulties in accessing adequate medical care while abroad, compounded by the distance from family and unfamiliarity with foreign healthcare systems. This partnership is set to alleviate these challenges, offering expatriates a convenient and affordable means to obtain medical consultations, easing both personal and family health concerns.
With the Shukhee app, expatriate workers can book online doctor appointments quickly and cost-effectively. The platform features Bangladeshi doctors, allowing patients to communicate more comfortably and effectively about their health issues. This service offers a more personal and accessible healthcare option compared to what is available abroad.
Ami Probashi has been dedicated to empowering migrant workers, with over 6 million users already benefitting from its services. The platform facilitates key government services for overseas employment, including BMET database registration, Pre-departure Orientation (PDO) bookings, biometric enrolment, and BMET clearance. By streamlining the migration process, Ami Probashi has helped reduce the time, cost, and complexity involved for migrant workers.
Now integrated with over 2,200 licensed recruitment agencies across Bangladesh, Ami Probashi offers a more efficient and transparent process for job selection and migration. The platform's recent additions, such as Consultancy and CV Builder services, further support migrants in securing employment abroad, while protecting them from fraudulent practices.
Having successfully served aspiring migrant workers, Ami Probashi is now focused on expanding its services to provide essential support to expatriates and their families. This agreement with Grameen Digital Health further enhances the range of services available to migrant workers, ensuring their health and well-being while working abroad.
The signing ceremony was attended by key representatives from both organisations. On behalf of Grameen Digital Health, M Solaimun Rasel, Chief Technology Officer, Mr. Hasibul Hasan, Head of Product and Marketing, Mokhlesur Rahman Mijba, Head of Operations, Legal Lead Barrister Ahmed Raquib Malik and Finance Lead Taufique Ahmed, were present. Ami Probashi was represented by Mr. Moshiur Rahman, Head of Product, Mr. Moynul Hasan, Technical Head, Mr. Md. Saif-Ul-Alam, Communication Lead, and Mr. Shyam Ahmed, Assistant Manager, Business Development.
This partnership marks a significant step towards ensuring that migrant workers are no longer deprived of the healthcare they need and deserve. Through this collaboration, Ami Probashi is taking a critical step in providing comprehensive support to the expatriate community, ensuring both their professional success and personal well-being while working abroad.
