Bangladesh Dental Society to hold election after six years
Bangladesh Dental Society (BDS), the national organisation for registered dental professionals, held a press conference on Thursday outlining the next election of the society after six years of the expiry of the last committee.
Organised at the Tofazzal Hossain Manik Hall at the Jatiya Press Club, the press conference was attended by Chief Election Commissioner Dr Salahuddin Al Azad and Election Commissioners Dr SM Tanvir Islam and Dr Sifat Uddin Khan.
The CEC presented the main address, outlining the society's long history since its establishment in 1977.
He emphasised the need for timely elections after an extended delay and discussed plans for voter registration and election logistics.
The meeting aimed to clarify the election process and encourage participation among dental professionals across the country, ensuring a democratic and transparent election.
Dhaka Dental College Principal Prof Dr Parimal Chandra Mallik, Director of Dental Education at the Health Directorate Dr AFM Shahidur Rahman and various heads of dental and medical colleges were present at the press conference, among others.
