Bangladeshi youth Faez Belal appointed judge for the Diana Award
The Diana Award, established in memory of Princess Diana, honours young people for their social impact. This year's recipients, selected from nominations closed on 7 August, will be announced between November and December. One of the judges for the 2024 edition is Faez Belal, a young Bangladeshi leader and founder of the Bangladesh Youth Society (BYS).
Faez founded BYS during his school years, focusing on education, climate change, gender equality, and peace. Through initiatives such as "Avoy", "Girls Summit", and "Youth Fest", BYS has engaged nearly 1 million participants and operates several social enterprises. In 2022, Faez received the Diana Award for his work.
On his new role, Faez said, "Being a judge for the award I received is an honour. I'm excited to learn from young leaders worldwide and work with judges from around the globe. I aim to ensure a fair process to highlight the next generation of leaders."
The Diana Award recognises individuals aged 9 to 25 who positively impact society.
