Biman Bangladesh Airlines celebrates Security Week

To raise awareness on security among esteemed passengers and airline staff, Biman Bangladesh Airlines is celebrating Security Week from 2 December to 4 December 2024. On 2 December, Biman's Managing Director and CEO Dr Md Safiqul Rahman formally inaugurated the event. The inauguration was attended by the directors, senior officials, and members of the security department.

During the event, Biman's General Manager of Security, Major Mahmoodul Hasan, presented an overview of the security department's activities and the Security Week program. He highlighted that Biman's security department ensures the safety of passengers' baggage, cargo, aircraft, and facilities with the use of state-of-the-art body cameras and CCTV surveillance for continuous monitoring. Additionally, the security team retrieves valuable items forgotten by passengers after deboarding the aircraft and returns them to the rightful owners.

He further mentioned that the security department generates significant revenue by providing security services to other airlines in addition to Biman.

To mark the occasion, the security department is conducting briefings and distributing leaflets to passengers and airline staff at various locations across the airport and Biman facilities. They have also set up stands and banners to enhance security awareness.
