NSU alumna wins North America World 2024-2025

North South University (NSU) proudly announces the remarkable achievement of Zarin Mahmood, an esteemed alumna from Batch 111 of the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program, who has been crowned Ms North America World 2024-2025.

This significant accomplishment marks Zarin as the first Bangladeshi Canadian and NSU graduate to achieve this prestigious award.

The Ms North America World 2024 pageant, organised by Mrs Canada Inc., celebrates diversity, empowerment, and advocacy for women on a global platform. Zarin's victory reflects her commitment to addressing vital social issues, particularly women's empowerment, diversity, and inclusion.

Zarin Mahmood, who currently resides in Vancouver, Canada, works in the IT sector for a Canadian government organisation. Reflecting on her journey, she credits her transformative experiences at NSU with shaping her path from the classroom to the global stage.

Zarin's academic journey began at Viqarunnisa Noon School and College in Dhaka, Bangladesh. She later pursued her undergraduate studies in Business Administration at North South University, where she honed her leadership, critical thinking, and innovative skills. Following this, Zarin earned an MBA from the University of Dhaka before moving to Canada, where she completed her Master's in Technology Innovation Management at Carleton University's Sprott School of Business.

Zarin said, "I want to be the bridge that connects others to the resources and support I once needed but could not find. This personal mission drives my work, ensuring that others have access to opportunities, encouragement, and tools that I once sought for myself."

Zarin expressed her profound gratitude to North South University for its role in her professional and personal growth. She acknowledged the university's rigorous academic curriculum, diverse campus environment, and numerous extracurricular opportunities as instrumental in building her confidence, leadership abilities, and passion for advocacy.
