NSUSSC is organising winter clothing drive in Sreemangal
Sreemangal, currently gripped by severe winter conditions, is witnessing underprivileged families struggling to stay warm.
The harsh, chilling winds have left many painfully aware of their lack of winter clothing and warm blankets, making this season especially harrowing for vulnerable groups, including children and older people. For these communities, winter brings a relentless fight for survival, leading to an alarming increase in health risks, highlighting the urgent need for intervention.
In response to this critical situation, the North South University Social Services Club (NSUSSC) has initiated its annual "Winter Clothing Drive 2024," scheduled on 26th December 2024 at Victoria School, Sreemangal, Moulovibazar, Sylhet. Besides the grants of NSU authority, warm clothes, blankets, and other winter essentials have been collected for the last 3 weeks at the North South University campus to provide much-needed relief to those in desperate need.
More than 250 devoted club members are working tirelessly to ensure the timely distribution of donated items to the affected families. The first team of volunteers has already set out for Sreemangal to visit the underprivileged areas and distribute tokens. Through this initiative, members of NSUSSC hope to spread empathy and hope during this challenging time.
As the communities of Sreemangal brace themselves against the harsh winter, NSUSSC plans to arrive as a beacon of hope and resilience. Through collective action and a shared spirit of humanity, the club is working to ensure that no one has to endure the winter's hardships alone. NSUSSC organises this event every year.
