Presidency University celebrate Ada Lovelace, day at their campus
Presidency University uniquely celebrated Ada Lovelace Day 2024 , paying homage to the pioneering figure of modern computer programming, Ada Lovelace (1815-1852).
The university's engineering school organised a series of technology-based competitions, including programming contests, circuit design contests, tech quizzes, and research poster presentations. These competitions were not mere contests; they were a showcase of creativity, innovative thinking, and a celebration of the limitless possibilities of technology. All events were open to students from all departments of Presidency University.
Today, Presidency University is filled with joy and youthful enthusiasm. Every circuit design and every line of code seemed to weave a new narrative of Ada Lovelace's enduring curiosity. Attractive prizes motivated the contestants, but the greatest reward for them was the experience of creating something new in the world of technology and showcasing their talents.
One of the key themes of these competitions was the idea that women, alongside men, can play a significant role in shaping the technology-driven world. The way Presidency University's young technology enthusiasts dream, think, and transcend conventional boundaries today will undoubtedly elevate this university to new heights shortly.
The day culminated in a much-awaited award ceremony where the winners were felicitated. The chief guest was Professor A. H. M. Faruk, the acting Vice-Chancellor of Presidency University. The special guest was Professor Dr Mohammad Anwarul Kabir, a distinguished academic and principal advisor to the university. The chair was Professor Dr Shahidul Islam Khan (Naim), Dean of the Engineering School. Also present were the Dean of the Business School, Professor Abul Kalam, Registrar Mr Sakir Hossain, and heads and faculty members from various departments.
