Radiant Pharma conducted fifty nine thousand free glucose tests on Diabetes Day
On World Diabetes Day, Radiant Pharmaceuticals conducted a glucose test campaign with more than 5,000 health workers nationwide.
This year's theme for World Diabetes Day is "Diabetes and Wellness." Radiant screened nearly 59,000 patients for diabetes using the state-of-the-art meter Accu-Check from Roche Company of Switzerland. The initiative is part of a global effort to raise awareness about diabetes and its role in health.
This initiative has set a new milestone in diabetes management and awareness raising. In 2014, NDTV Fortis Health4U held a world record by running a similar campaign across ten cities in India.
About 5,000 health workers of various levels, including doctors, nurses, and technologists, participated in the campaign throughout the day. As a result of the concerted efforts, people from different parts of the country received free diabetes tests.
The initiative has been welcomed by health workers and the public at various levels, including renowned doctors in the country. They believe such initiatives will be essential in preventing and managing diabetes.
Diabetes is a global epidemic today. The prevalence of this disease is increasing daily in Bangladesh, disrupting the lives of many people. Awareness raising and early screening are critical to prevent this disease. This Radiant Pharmaceuticals initiative is an inspiration in that regard. Experts believe that diabetes can be eradicated from Bangladesh if such initiatives are implemented more widely in the future.
