Robotics and signal processing advancements showcased at AIUB
The Faculty of Engineering (FE), American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) successfully organised the 4th International Conference on Robotics, Electrical, and Signal Processing Techniques 2025 (4th ICREST'25) on January 11 to January 12, 2025. The Inauguration Ceremony was held at the AIUB.
The Chief Patron of the conference, Dr Carmen Z. Lamagna, Member of the Board of Trustees, AIUB, delivered the welcome address, highlighting the significance of the conference in fostering innovation and research in the fields of robotics and electrical engineering. The conference's General Chair, Professor ABM Siddique Hossain, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB, provided an insightful overview of the conference objectives and its expected impact on the academic and research community. Professor Celia Shahnaz delivered an insightful speech on behalf of Professor Mohammed Moshiul Hoque, Chair of the IEEE Bangladesh Section, emphasising the crucial role of IEEE in fostering advancements in technological research and education. The Chief Guest, Professor Saiful Islam, Vice-Chancellor of AIUB, officially inaugurated the event with an inspiring speech on the significance of interdisciplinary collaboration.
The conference featured eight keynote speeches, one invited speech, and 16 technical sessions spread across eight tracks. With 265 submitted papers from 365 authors across seven countries and four continents, the event underscored its international significance. Following a rigorous double-blind peer review process, 96 papers were accepted, with contributions from 32 foreign authors. The conference was supported by 106 reviewers and 27 session chairs, ensuring a high standard of scholarly discussion. The event concluded with a Closing Ceremony at AIUB, marking the grand finale of 4th ICREST'25. This was followed by a series of engaging segments, including a reflection on the 4th ICREST'25 Moments, cultural performances and an appreciation video showcasing the journey and accomplishments of the ICREST.
A key highlight of the closing ceremony was the inspiring speech by Dr Hasanul A. Hasan, founder member of the board of trustees at AIUB, who commended the dedication of the organising team and emphasised the importance of innovation and collaboration in shaping the future. Dr Hasanul A. Hasan, Professor Dr Saiful Islam, Dr Carmen Z. Lamagna, Prof. Dr Md. Abdur Rahman, and Prof. Dr ABM Siddique Hossain handed over the Dr Anwarul Abedin and Mrs Hasna Abedin Scholar Grants. The Scholar Grants were delivered to Best Paper and Best Presentation winners based on the judge's decision. A vote of Thanks was supplied by the organising chair of the 4th ICREST'25, Professor Dr Abdur Rahman, Pro-Vice Chancellor, AIUB, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participants, sponsors, organisers, volunteers and media for their collective efforts in making the 4th ICREST'25 a success.
