Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry signs MoU with United International University

Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) and United International University (UIU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop skilled manpower as per requirement of the industries.
Shams Mahmud, President, DCCI and Professor Dr Chowdhury Mofizur Rahman, Vice Chancellor, UIU signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations on Tuesday (January 21).
During the MoU signing ceremony Shams Mahmud said that for the development of research and innovation in the industrial sector, Industry-Academia collaboration is important. Under the purview of this MoU, both the parties shall work jointly for skill development required for industry.
He also said that the fourth industrial revolution ushered a new era for technological advancement, so the Universities should redesign their curriculum according to the need of the industries. Due to lack of industry-academia collaboration, graduates sometimes faces challenges to get job. He suggested to create our graduates skilled and technology friendly as per need of the industry.
Professor Dr Chowdhury Mofizur Rahman said that the UIU is going to take an initiative of establishing "Incubation Centre" for the startups or new entrepreneurs with a view to facilitate them providing trainings and other supports. The Vice Chancellor also underscored importance of industry-academia collaboration to create graduates compatible for future industry.
DCCI's Senior Vice President NKA Mobin, FCA, FCS, Vice President Mohammad Bashiruddin, Secretary Md. Joynal Abdin, Pro Vice Chancellor of UIU Prof Dr Hasnan Ahmed and Director Prof Dr Md HR Jowerder and Dr F S Subhani were also present during the MoU signing.
