'Furniture industry will second largest export sector after RMG'
Salim H Rahman, Chairman of the Bangladesh Furniture Industries Owners Association, said the furniture industry can only play a significant role in export earnings after the garment industry.
He made these comments in Dhaka while inaugurating the corporate office of Innovative Trading, a lacquer supplier for the furniture industry, reads a press release.
Salim R Rahman mentioned that the furniture sector in Bangladesh is experiencing daily growth. Young entrepreneurs are making new investments in this sector. Currently, the furniture industry represents a market worth around Tk30,000 crore. Furniture industries have vast opportunities to tap into global demand.
Mohammed Didarul Alam, Chief Executive Officer of Innovative Trading, pointed out that, after the RMG sector, this industry can contribute significantly to the country's development by earning foreign currency.
This sector can also create employment opportunities for the unemployed. In addition to supplying raw materials for furniture industries, we provide various chemicals and materials for paint and coatings, packaging, and many other industries.
