Stocks edge up amid surging turnover
DSEX, the key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) rose by 70.79 points or 1.25% to 5,710
Equity indices of the country's two major bourses traded in the green during the first one-and-half-hour session on Thursday over investors' appetite for buying shares.
In this session, DSEX, the key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) rose by 70.79 points or 1.25% to 5,710.
However, turnover of the DSE also rose by 7% to Tk749.67crore during the session.
The benchmark index CASPI at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) rose by 235 points to 16,528 till 11:30 am.
Moreover, DSE shariah index DSES gained 5.98 points to 1,287 and blue-chip index DS30 rose 21 points to 2,093.
During this session, 243 companies share price rose, while 54 issues fell and 56 issues price remain unchanged during the session at the DSE.
