Top gaining, losing stocks of Monday
The volatile session that concluded the Monday trading day with a downward trend had only 14 gainers in the Dhaka Stock Exchange, against 142 losers.
Based on the last trading price, Golden Jubilee Mutual Fund in its effort to keep the top position in the gainers' table saw its unit price soaring by 9.75% to Tk9 apiece.
Bangladesh Lamps stood second with 2.39% gain over the session.
Anlima Yarn gained 1.92%, followed by Olympic Industries, Al-Haj Textile, One Bank, Bata, Orion Pharma, Aamra Technology and Apex Footwear.
Top losing stocks of Monday
A total of 142 scrips saw a decline in the DSE on Monday, against 14 gainers.
Bangladesh General Insurance Company Limited (BGIC) was the top loser at the DSE as its shares price fell by 9.78% to close at Tk54.4 on Monday. Profit booking was the main cause of the company's downward trend as its shares jumped over 80% previously.
Pragati Life Insurance shares fell by 7.42% to Tk107.2 a piece and the company was in the second spot at the losers' table.
Genex Infosys shares were corrected by 4.07% to close at Tk91.8, following its recent rally over the previous days.
ITC, Metro Spinning, Sonali Paper, Navana Pharma, AND telecom, Popular Life Insurance and Gemini Sea Food were among the top ten losers.
