Daraz expects 15x sales during ‘11:11’ festival
The sale festival kicked off on Tuesday midnight
Daraz Bangladesh, a leading online marketplace and concern of Alibaba Group, is expecting to see 15 times more business during the world's biggest 24-hour online sales festival titled "Eleven Eleven (11.11) campaign" than it does in a regular day.
The sale festival kicked off on Tuesday midnight.
"The expected sales during the campaign day is 3.5 times more than the previous year's '11:11' by the end of the festival," Daraz Managing Director (MD) Syed Mostahidal Hoq told The Business Standard on Wednesday.
However, he also mentioned that it is too early to reveal the exact figure of the total sales.
"We will also be hosting the sixth edition of Fatafati Friday sale and 12:12 campaign (12 December) also this year," Mostahidal Hoq said.
Daraz Bangladesh is hosting the "11:11" campaign for the third time since its initiation in Bangladesh in 2009. The festival offers up to 80% discount for some of the product categories, said officials at Daraz.
According to Daraz, this international campaign is the world's biggest sales day as it is 18 times bigger than Amazon Prime day and 2.5 times bigger than Black Friday.
