'Govt ready to help businesspeople in fighting coronavirus impact'
Businessmen earlier expressed serious concerns over possible negative impacts on their businesses because of the virus outbreak
The government is ready to help the businessmen to fight the impact of coronavirus on export and import, said Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi.
"The government is observing the coronavirus situation. But we will not take any measure hastily that would need to be changed in future," the minister made the remark in the launching programme of INCOTERMS 2020 at city's Intercontinental Hotel today.
International Chamber of Commerce (ICC)- Bangladesh organised the event.
"China's situation is improving, their factories are being opened, the numbers of death and infected are going down gradually," he said further expressing hope.
Bangladesh's manufacturing and export-oriented industries have certainly incurred a loss due to the outbreak of coronavirus in China, but they are yet to determine the actual volume of it, said industry people earlier.
They expressed serious concerns over possible negative impacts on their businesses because of the virus outbreak which caused delays in import from and export to the East Asian country.
