Made in Bangladesh nominated for APSA
'Made in Bangladesh' is Rubaiyat’s third film after Meherjaan (2011) and Under Construction (2015).
Another feather has been added to Rubaiyat Hossain's MADE IN BANGLADESH. By getting nominated for APSA's Cultural Diversity Award. UNESCO patrons the award and this year's award ceremony will be held on November 21.
Established in 2007, the Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) is hosted by the City of Brisbane, Australia's New World City. APSA is the region's one of the highest accolade in film where cinematic excellence shines. With films from 70 countries and areas in the region, APSA honors filmmaking that best reflects its cultural origins and the diversity of the Asia Pacific.
MADE IN BANGLADESH is Rubaiyat's third film after Meherjaan (2011) and Under Construction (2015).
The cast of the films include RIKITA NANDINI SHIMU, NOVERA RAHMAN, Parvin Paru, Maya Mayabi, Deepanwita Martin and Mostafa Monwar. Mita Rahman had an special appearance for the film.
Earlier the film has its World Premiere at Toronto International Film Festival and European Premiere at BFI London Film Festival. In the recently concluded Le Festival de Saint-Jean-de-Luz in France, Shimu won the best actress award. Khona Talkies (Bangladesh)and Les Films de l'Après-Midi (France) produced the film while Beofilm (Denmark), Midas Films (Portugal) and Cinema Cocoon (Bangladesh) are the co-producers. Pyramide International in doing the World Sales of the film while Pyramide Distribution is in charge of the French distribution. Ashique Mostafa, François d'Artemare, Peter Hyldahl, Pedro Borges and Aadnan Imtiaz Ahmed are producing the film.
