A Dhaka court on Monday issued a warrant for the arrest of singer Mila for failing to appear before the court to testify in a case filed by herself.
Mohammed Sharif Uddin, judge of Dhaka-9 Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal, passed the order.
Mila filed the case against her former husband, Parvez Sanjari, in 2017 under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act. Later, summons were issued against her several times as she had failed to appear before the court for two and a half years.
Earlier on April 25, Mila called a press conference, in which she spoke at length about the alleged extra-marital affairs of her husband, and accused him and his family of torture and abuse against her. She also accused Pervez of threatening her life.
Her marriage came to an end last year following the case she filed against her husband over physical assault and dowry.
Pervez also filed a law suit against Mila for trying to kill him.
The couple were married on May 12, 2017, and got divorced on May 22, 2018.
