Climate migrants to get home: Shahab Uddin
Shahab Uddin said the people who have lost their houses for climate change and helpless and poor people will get houses.
Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Md Shahab Uddin today said no one in the country will remain homeless.
Shahab Uddin said the people who have lost their houses for climate change and helpless and poor people will get houses.
He was speaking as the chief guest in the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected mayor and councilor of Barlekha municipality and inauguration of solar street lamp project of the municipality at it's auditorium.
Shahab Uddin urged the councilors to listen the grievances of the mass people heedfully and implement the social safety net programmes accurately for the target people, a press release said.
Barlekha Upazila Parishad Chairman Md Shoeb Ahmed, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shamim Al Imran, mayor Abul Imam kamran Chowdhury and Upazila unit AL leader Rafiqul Islam Sundor were among others present.
Later, the Minister also attended another function where he distributed scholarship cheques and wheel chairs for the disable people in the Upazila
