Watch Samsung Galaxy S21 vs iPhone 12 Pro battery test: Winner runs for 45 mins more
YouTuber MrWhosetheboss, posted a video comparing the battery of Galaxy S21 Ultra with that of iPhone 12 Pro Max, Apple’s most powerful and efficient phone right now
Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is the company's latest and greatest smartphone out there. One can even call it the most powerful Android handset right now. While it excels in several areas including the cameras, display and processor, what has been a constant complaint from Exynos-version models is the battery performance. In the past, Samsung flagship phones running Exynos chipsets haven't been widely appreciated by critics in terms of battery when compared to their Qualcomm Snapdragon counterparts.
However, to test how much better things have become in Galaxy S21 Ultra's Exynos 2100 version, YouTuber MrWhosetheboss, posted a video comparing the battery of Galaxy S21 Ultra with that of iPhone 12 Pro Max, Apple's most powerful and efficient phone right now.
In the video we see both Galaxy S21 Ultra and iPhone 12 Pro Max starting off at 100 percent with the same screen brightness and other settings. While initially we see the Galaxy S21 Ultra draining a tad bit faster, it catches up by a good margin later. As a result, we see the iPhone 12 Pro Max reaching 0 percent while the Galaxy S21 Ultra being at 12 percent. In the end, the S21 Ultra manages to run for 45 minutes more than the most powerful iPhone.
However, there are a few things we need to keep in mind. Both the phones now run on 5nm-based chipsets and both have AMOLED screens. However, Samsung pushes more pixels on a larger canvas than Apple and has Adaptive refresh rate tech as well. Also, worth mentioning is that the Galaxy S21 Ultra has a larger battery of 5,000mAh than the 12 Pro Max's 3687mAh battery.
Although the Galaxy S21 Ultra has around 1400mAh battery extra and a slightly larger screen with more pixels, many may have expected it to run for over 45 minutes. That didn't happen though. But at the end of the day, Samsung is the clear winner here.
