The global pandemic caused by the Covid-19 virus has forced many cities to shut down across the globe. While medical and essential facilities are available in Dhaka, all other forms of businesses have halted its operations for now. Dhaka, being one of the most densely populated megacities of the world, looks more like a deserted city since the lockdown began.
The roads, usually packed with vehicles, are empty now - the asphalt is clearly visible, there is no congestion at crossroads. It is highly unusual to see the capital resting peacefully. You do not see such a scene even on Eid holidays. The Business Standard brings to you some before and after photos of the capital's busiest locations.
