Chaya raises $45,000 pre-seed money
Bangladesh's first space sharing platform Chaya has raised $45,000 in pre-seed funding from investors.
The early-stage startup has received funding from angel investors Mohammad Maaz Mamoon and Isra Mamoon, said a press release.
Chaya connects homeowners and businesses with users looking to book a space for their needs.
"This is a big step in our journey, and we're excited to be going forward into providing solutions for a major problem that affects thousands of individuals around the country." –– Says Mehraab Anwar, COO and co-founder of Chaya.
"We plan to open doors and access to a network of housing that fulfils the needs of people who are struggling to find reliable housing in safe areas," said Farhia Tabassum, the CEO and co-founder of Chaya.
CHAYA was first conceptualized in early 2019 when Farhia Tabassum and Mehraab Anwar were hired to shoot content for a friend's clothing brand. The founders found themselves at a loss when trying to find a space to conduct the photoshoot.
They approached a friend and asked if they could rent the friend's home for a photoshoot. With demand meeting supply, they realised that this could be scaled to solve a major problem using technology.
