Ramendu Majumdar shares his theatrical journey on Ogroj

Since 1958, Ramendu Majumdar has been relentlessly striving to take Bangladesh's theater to greater heights. He is one of the founders of the principal drama troupe "Theater," which he directed and acted in throughout his life. During the 1971 Liberation War, Ramendu Majumdar worked on the Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendro, and edited and published an anthology of Bangabandhu's speeches.

The renowned thespian recently shared stories about his theatrical journey in the eleventh episode of "Ogroj" aired by IPDC Finance Limited, read a press release on Saturday.

In an edifying tête-à-tête with the host Anis A. Khan, Majumdar expressed his elation at representing Bangladesh internationally as the honorary president of International Theatre Institute. He is only the second Asian person to serve in this capacity.

Born in 1941, an eminent Bangladeshi theatre actor, director, producer, and author, Ramendu Majumdar has a fantastic portfolio that has yet to be replicated. He completed his higher secondary education at Comilla Victoria College and bachelor's degree in English Literature at Dhaka University.

In 1993, he established Expressions, an advertising agency. 

For his extraordinary contributions to the arts, he was honored with an Ekushey Padak in 2009.
