Critics Choice Awards 2021: Chloe Zhao’s ‘Nomadland’ continues to reign on award season
“Mank” led the field with 12 nominations, including best picture, director, actor for Gary Oldman
The 26th annual Critics Choice Awards which honours some of the best film and television of the year was held on Sunday.
This year the programme was an in-person/virtual hybrid show and was hosted by Taye Diggs. The nominees appeared remotely from various locations around the world (like Emmy and Golden Globe nominees), reports Variety.
Netflix received 46 film nominations, A24 was the second-most nominated film studio with 14, and Amazon Studios was close behind with 13. Across film and TV, HBO was the second-most nominated with 24.
"Mank" led the field with 12 nominations, including best picture, director, actor for Gary Oldman and supporting actress for Amanda Seyfried. "The Crown" and "Ozark" led the TV field with six nominations each.
