New series ‘Mechho Tota Gechho Bhoot’ to air on Duranta TV
The story follows Tota and Moina’s days filled with playing, bickering and magical stories
From 12 April, Sunday, Duranta Television is going to air their 11th season of programmes. Aside from their usual shows and cartoon series, they will also air a new drama series "Mechho Tota Gechho Bhoot".
World Fish and Duranta Television came together to produce the drama with 26 episodes. Financed by USAID, "Mechho Tota Gechho Bhoot" will air every Friday and Saturday at 2:30 pm and 9:30 pm, starting from 17 April.
The drama features ten year old Tota living with his parents and grandmother. He is friends with Moina and his two dolls Itu and Mitu, who always stay together, play and listen to fairy tales from Tota's grandmother. Itu and Mitu stay on trees all day, so Tota's grandmother calls them "Gechho Bhoot". She calls Tota "Mechho Tota" because he loves to eat fish. On the other hand, Moina is a happy-go-lucky and brave girl who likes to learn new things every day.
The story follows Tota and Moina's days filled with playing, bickering and magical stories. Through child-friendly stories, this drama aims to educate children about the nutrition values of fish, the importance of good health and nutrition, and how men and women can work side by side.
The drama is directed by Soumya Nazrul. The story and screenplay was written by Monirul Islam Rubel. The cast includes child artists Ishrak Turzo, Wania Jarin Anvita, Shohiduzzaman Selim, Farzana Chhobi, Tushar Khan, Wahida Mollik Jolly, Shotabdi Wadud, Deepa Khandokar, Priyam Orchi among others. The puppeteers were – Khaled Hasan Rumi, Sayma Karim, Meherinnesa Chhoto, Foysal Mahmud, George Deepto, Mridha Omi and Faikuzzaman Shihab.
