TV Guide: Eid-ul- Fitr 2020 specials
The Business Standard brings you an Eid-ul-Fitr special TV guide to help you decide what to watch during the shutdown.
As Eid-ul-Fitr is inching closer amid the nationwide shutdown, entertainment has become a staple part of our life to beat the shutdown blues. Here is a sneak peek of this year's Eid programs from local channels.
Duronto TV
Duronto TV will air many programs and films for their young audiences on Eid holidays.
This year the channel will bring five blockbuster Hollywood films dubbed in Bangla.The movies are as follows- "Alvin and the Chipmunks Meet Frankenstein," "Alvin and the Chipmunks Meet the Wolfman," "Antz," "Chicken Run" and "The Little Engine That Could." The films will be aired at 10:00pm on the first five days of the holidays.
Among other Eid programs that will be aired every day for children, during Eid season are cartoons and interactive shows including "Tree Fu Tom," "Dustu Misti Eid Adda", "Khatta Mitha" and "The Jungle Book", all of which will include fun and exciting episodes.
Deepto TV
Deepto TV will air a range of programs during the Eid holidays. Here are the highlights of Deepto TV programs.
Directed by Gaurav Sarker, this very special Eid program will air on Deepto Tv 12:10pm on the first seven days of the holidays. Hosted by Angan Fariya, "Amader Chobi Amader Gan" the show will feature popular songs from classic films.
Deepto TV will air many Eid special dramas on the first three days. This special TV drama, "Moddhobitto" revolves around a middle class couple and their every-day struggles. Directed by Tarek Rahma, the drama will be aired on the third day of Eid at 8.30pm.
Directed and hosted by Eliza, the special Eid program will take the viewers on a fascinating journey with Eliza to different countries around the world as well as some of the remarkable heritage sites of Bangladesh. Deepto TV will air "Eliza's Travel Diary" at 4.30pm on seven consecutive days during the festivities.
Bangladesh Television
This year, during the Eid holidays, the popular characters of Sisimpur will participate in Eid special show from home.
The three-episode show, titled "Ghore Ghore Eid, Ghore Theke Eid" will air on the first three days of the Eid holidays on BTV at 5:30pm.
Popular Sisimpur characters like Ikri and Halum will talk to the kids about the importance of staying home while emphasizing on how to maintain proper hygiene.
Ikri and Halum will also brief the kids to take care of the environment for a better future. Talking about the contents of the special Sisimpur episodes, Mohammad Shah Alam, Executive Director of Sisimpur, stated, "The world is going through difficult time and we should focus on child's education and health during these difficult times."
Bangla Vision
"Oh My God," a seven episode drama series will air on Bangla vision from Eid day onwards at 8:40 pm. Actors Salahuddin Lavlu, Safa Kabir and Tousif Mahbub plays the central roles in this comedy drama.
ATN Bangla
Action hero and businessman Ananta Jalil and Afiea Nusrat Borsha will be seen talking to host Nirob in the chat show "Eid Adda" on ATN Bangla. This episode of Eid Adda will air the day after Eid-ul-Fitr at 6:00 pm.
