Biggest bells in the world
As of Feb 2024
King Dhammazedi of the Burmese Hanthawaddy Kingdom commissioned the world's largest bell for the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon, measuring 6.3 metres tall and 4.2 metres wide.
In 1608, Portuguese mercenary Felipe de Brito tried to steal it but the bell sank in the Bago River where it remains lost despite centuries of search efforts.
