Lightning kills 32 in Uttar Pradesh
Four lakh ex-gratia has been announced to families of each victim by Chief Minister of the state
At least 32 people were killed and 13 more injured as lightning struck them in India's Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, just a day after lightning claimed one life.
The victims included seven each in Kanpur and Fatehpur, five in Jhansi, four in Jalaun, three in Hamirpur, two in Ghazipur and one each in Jaunpur, Pratapgarh, Kanpur Dehat and Chitrakoot, NDTV reports quoting a statement.
Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and issued orders to the respective district magistrates to give a compensation of Rs. 4 lakh to the families of the victims.
