Tripura seeks permission to promote tourism in Bangladesh
Around 3.80 lakh tourists had visited the state during April to December in last year where the highest number of tourists were from Bangladesh
Tripura government has taken decision to request the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to pursue its Bangladesh counterpart to allow the state to display ad of Tripura tourism in Akhaura railway station and other important locations of their national highway passing near the border.
"To promote tourism, the council of ministers has adopted a tourism policy to harness the best potential for economic growth of Tripura," said Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath, United News of India reported.
Around 3.80 lakh tourists had visited the state during April to December in last year where the highest number of tourists were from Bangladesh followed by USA, Canada and the UK.
