Position: Grants Manager
Department/Center/Office: Center for Enterprise and Society (CES)
BACKGROUND
The Grants Manager is a contractual position, and the incumbent will be responsible for supporting Center for Enterprise and Society fundraising goals by overseeing the end-to-end grant writing process and project design if awarded. This includes regularly identifying calls for proposals, finding prospective donors through individual networks, writing grant proposals in consultation with the CES Director, and cultivating long-term relationships with funders through events and programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Write clear, accurate, and persuasive funding requests, including letters of inquiry, concept papers, proposals, reports, and grant applications tailored to each funder's areas, mission, specifications, and deadlines. (This includes CES current portfolio as well as new expansion opportunity).
- Coordinate the grant process from identification to submission, including production of proposal materials, such as cover letters, narratives, application forms, project budgets, and other items requested by the funder.
- Work with the CES Director to program developments, update proposals and reports accordingly.
- Meet proposal deadlines by adhering to systems and timelines for the different phases of proposal creation, including information gathering, writing, review, approval, and transmittal.
- Manage a grants calendar that captures deadlines and includes a schedule for prospecting, writing, and submitting proposals, and preparing impact reports.
- Update grant/donor database with all grant-related communications such as awards, declines, grant due dates, report dates, communication with funders.
- Work closely with funders to define proposal and report strategies.
- Develop presentations, research reports, survey reports, and documents to secure new funding and reporting to stakeholders.
- Participate in weekly grants meetings to provide updates on submission, award, and prospecting statuses.
- It is expected that the incumbent will write 4-5 proposals a month.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least 5-7 years of grant writing experience and preferably some managerial experience
- Excellent persuasive written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to proofread and draft high-quality documents.
- Exceptional organizational skills. Ability to manage concurrent projects and deadlines and identify priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume, results-oriented work environment.
- Strong research skills.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly concerning funder specifications and deadlines
- Solutions-oriented and resourceful self-starter who shows determination to solve problems and can work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical skills, including synthesizing information and program data and communicating conclusions through writing and speaking.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office, data visualization, and research data search tools.
- Ability to periodically attend select community events occurring outside of regular working hours (e.g., mornings, evenings and occasionally weekends).
JOB LOCATION:
This role offers flexibility with a hybrid working modality. The Grants Manager will have the option to work both remotely and on-site at ULAB, depending on project needs and meetings. It is expected that the incumbent will be available for at least 2 in-person team meetings per week as per the availability of CES team members.
CONTRACT PERIOD:
The initial contract is for 12 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and the scope of work.
EXPECTED SALARY:
The position is contractual and performance-based to reward successful grant acquisition. The Grants Manager will have a clear path to earn based on performance, with regular evaluations tied to achieving funding goals.
a. Salary: BDT 70,000 per month (inclusive of Taxes and other benefits). This base salary covers the core responsibilities of the role, including grant proposal writing, donor research, and management of CES's grant portfolio.
b. Performance-Based Incentives
- Grant Award Bonus:
- For grant awards worth BDT 50 lacs, the Grants Manager will receive a 3% payout on the grant value.
- For grant awards totaling BDT 1 crore, the payout will be 7-10% of the grant value.
- For grant awards exceeding BDT 1.5 crore, a 10% payout will be awarded.
