Edible oil price to come down soon: Law Minister
Law Minister Anisul Haque has said that the price of edible oil in the country will come down soon due to the steps taken by the government to control the rise in prices.
He made the remarks in response to a question from reporters at an extended meeting of the Kasba Upazila Awami League held at the Kasba Upazila Parishad auditorium in Brahmanbaria on Friday (11 March).
The law minister said the price of edible oil has not risen much in the last 40 years, much more than it has recently.
"This has affected Bangladesh as well. The government has taken all possible steps to control the price of edible oil. I think oil prices will come down a bit soon," he added.
The Minister urged the people to be patient.
Regarding the election of the expired district councils at that time, the minister said, the new election commission has taken charge.
"I believe their first task will be to elect a district council soon. If the law has to be amended there, the government will try to amend the law soon in the interest of elections," he added.
