Eight teams to monitor Dhaka cattle markets
A deputy secretary of the livestock ministry will be in charge of each team to operate in Dhaka metropolis
The Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock has formed eight teams to oversee the cattle markets set up in the capital, with Eid-ul-Azha just around the corner.
Each of the teams will be led by a deputy secretary of the ministry, said a fisheries and livestock ministry press release Sunday.
Meantime, 18 veterinary medical teams and an expert team for farm animals have been formed for the makeshift cattle markets under the two Dhaka city corporations.
These teams will look after the health of livestock brought to the markets, and make sure no sick or injured animal is on sale.
The Department of Livestock Services has also formed four market management monitoring teams and a central control room coordination committee.
Besides, the department has formed 1,213 veterinary medical teams across the country centring the Eid cattle trade. The fisheries and livestock ministry will be in charge of the teams.
